We primarily offer two plans to our clients: a College Identification Plan and a College Application Plan. Additionally, we will consult on an hourly basis if needed. We also now offer workshops for parents and small groups of students on weekends and evenings.
This plan is available to high school juniors and seniors to assist students and parents in the selection of appropriate target colleges so that families can make informed choices. It includes face-to-face meetings with student and parents to assess abilities, interests, academic and extracurricular background, and the family’s preferences.
Based on this information, the family will be provided with a list and detailed report of potential colleges. We will discuss these choices with the family and narrow the list down to a target list of schools to which the student will apply.
Most families prefer to schedule the meeting during the spring of junior year so that recommendations can be made to help the candidate become more competitive.
Families that have already identified the colleges to which their child will apply can use College Consults to assist with the application process. We work with students to open online accounts with individual colleges, create timelines and develop a college resume.
We assist with application and essay completion, interview preparation, navigating Naviance to send transcript requests and teacher recommendation requests, and submission of applications by required deadlines.
We also work with students to complete all necessary supplemental information and additional essays required by schools using the Common Application and Coalition Application.
College Consults will continue to work with the student in personal meetings or via Skype until all applications have been submitted.
Advisors offer their services, when available, on an hourly basis in person or via Skype.
